4 Essential Link Building Tips for Advanced Web Users

Link building has long been promoted as one of the optimal ways for growing one’s site and gathering a larger audience online. This common practice is one manner in which web masters can increase their clout and influence in the digital world, resulting in better rankings on popular search engines. Web masters are a great fan of this phenomenon, as it requires no costly advertising. When relying upon link building to bring in traffic and optimize search results, there are several essential tips you will want to keep in mind. These will help you to build more effective links.

1.  Find the Right Balance
Because link building has exploded in popularity, search engines have implemented algorithms that could potentially hurt your site if it has too many links established. For this reason, it is important to find the right balance between too few and too many links to your site. This is one of the primary reasons often given for avoiding spam link building; paying for someone to spread links that are not relevant many times backfires and ends up proving detrimental to the site as a whole.

2.  Keep Things Simple
On the whole, link building is not a complicated process. Link building simply consists of the placement of links on the web that direct back to the site being promoted. These links can be gained in a myriad of different ways, though most web masters place a premium on ads found on popular sites that are similar in subject matter and content. Users browsing on such sites may be more likely to visit the first site, due to the similarities between the two. Regardless, a link placed anywhere on the web has potential to draw new traffic to the site.

3.  Build Piece by Piece
Many web masters mistakenly spend altogether too much time drafting shoddy pieces of content that contain a few keywords that have been haphazardly stuck together. The idea should never be to churn out pages upon pages of cheap content, solely will the goal of releasing more links and gaining new traffic. Quality content will prove itself over the course of the long haul, and it furthermore much more profitable. Drafting high-quality pieces one at a time and creating the relevant links for those articles is often the best approach to have.

4.  Foster Relationships with Other Bloggers
Some link builders think that placing a few comments with links in them on particular sites is all that is needed to really excel in the link building world, but content that is actually promoted on a secondary site is much more likely to pull in new visitors. You may wish to craft a list of sites and bloggers that are particularly relevant to your subject matter, and work to create relationships with the individuals behind this content. In doing so, you will have the opportunity to share your content more effectively and get the word out to many more people.

By keeping a few simple keys in mind and working to make certain that link building techniques are solid and effective, web masters can easily grow their sites online. Web destinations that have links extensively across the web will not only be more visible to those looking for similar content, but the web of links left behind will continue serving as a means for users to be directed to your site in the future. This means the link building has two-fold benefits: on the one hand it will allow new visitors to be directed to the site from search engine results, while on the other, visitors to similar sites also have the opportunity to find yours.

How To Recover From Google's Panda Effect

Google Panda is Google's latest search algorithm. Introduced last year, the algorithm was created to a draw a line between awesome sites and not-so-good sites. This update ranks all websites according to the quality and quantity of the quality content on present on them. So, lets say you had a website about gorgeous girls, it will obviously get more hits and thus be considered a hit by Google Panda. On the same end, if you had a website about how sexy George W. Bush is, it wouldn't get as many visitors as you'd like and be ranked below-the-belt website (!).

Where the update itself needs a little bit of getting used to, it actually is pretty handy. For one, the big companies won't be listed at the top of the search just for their unbeatable SEO tactics. Secondly, quality content will be prioritised and show on the top of the search engine driving more traffic into your website.

Now, Google Panda is going to kick your butt out of its community if you have:

1. Copied or Duplicate Content

2. Outdated or Idiotic Content which the Users find Irrelevant

3. Grammatical and Spelling Mistakes

4. Automatically Generated Content

5. Frivolous SEO Content

6. Over Optimization

Make one mistake and your website is going to be penalized for it now. You have entered the Rabbit's Hole and it goes much deeper than you think. This, I would like to think, is a plus for quality bloggers. We feel sorry for all the spammers out there who had dreams to make it big through copying someone else's content and posting outdated material thinking it didn't matter as long as they got paid.

Alright, lets get to the "Fixing and Fighting" part of Google Panda. We have a few solutions for you regarding your page ranking and Google Panda. Let's check them out below:

-Release The Demon Inside: 'Copy and Paste' Trend Won't Work Any more:

Give your brain a little nudge, or perhaps a light pinch, doing this could be sufficient to reduce the numbness that you have provided it with for so many years. If that doesn't work to wake it up, then might as well give up your dream to become a successful blogger. Unleash the dragon and write with your mind and heart. Produce quality content and write it in your own (intelligible) words. Make your posts interesting, worth-the-while, grammatically correct, spelling mistakes will not be tolerated (yeah, we are back to grade school).

Keep the above suggestion in mind and write at least every once a week. Update your blog/website and make sure all your links are in working condition. Do not leave your site dormant. It will bring you down where all the sucky sites reside.

Write lengthy content, add videos, images, etc to make it more attractive and easy-to-understand to your readers and followers. Know what your followers are looking for and give them exactly that and more.

-Speed Counts:

Optimize your website to higher, more desirable speeds. Make it user-friendly and relevant to your topic. Google likes websites that are in tune with their soul.

-Duplicated Content in a BIG 'NO':

The concept is that when you duplicate or copy some content you are technically 'stealing' it. Google Panda is working very well against the theft or original content so you should remove all the data you have ever stolen from someone and vow never to do it again because the punishment to doing so wont be a few spanks, it will be being dragged down the page ranking chain. If you know what you want to write, then write it the way you feel like it should be written. Don't be a sore loser.

-Use Relevant Keywords:

We can not impress this point enough, you need to know that the keywords you use can either bring you to the top of the food chain or get you eaten brutally and spat out by a bunch of no-good wannabes. Use the most relevant keywords according to your website and your blog. It will help you get the most traffic from the internet users. If you don't know how to use keywords to your benefit, please follow this link.

-Link You Blog/Website to the Social Media (Twitter, Facebook etc):

By using these social websites, you will drive more traffic into your website. Your followers/subscribers will follow your posts and in return, Google will start considering you a legit blogger. If you don't know how to drive traffic to your website through Twitter, please click here.

-Offer Free Promotions:

People like free stuff, we all know that. All website owners should take advantage of this weakness of mankind. Offer free stuff like ebooks, music and video downloads etc and you will instantly drive more traffic into your website.

These suggestions may look tough and most of you must be thinking about getting out while you still can but trust us, if you really are serious about what you do then this is the only way to beat the Panda Effect. You need to start working on your website, give it time, pamper it, love it and Google Panda will give you the results.

Until then, Happy Panda-Kick-Ass-ing Everyone! :)

Studies show that you are more likely to earn through Google AdSense if you place the right ads in the right place with the right size. In accordance with the topic, we did a research which can be found here. Trust us, size matters (!) along with its location :D

Traffic:

Newbie bloggers are usually under the misconception that traffic is what brings in big money. This is not true in the case of Google AdSense. What matters where as Google AdSense is concerned, is the type of traffic that you are generating. Now, there are two types of traffic that you could be getting on your blog/website:
1. Organic Traffic: Traffic that you are receiving through search engines etc
2. Inorganic Traffic: Traffic that you are receiving through sites like Facebook and Twitter.
Out of the two, we consider Organic Traffic to be most prone to clicking on ads on your page. So try increasing the Organic Traffic.

AdSense for Search:

Google AdSense offers multiple options to monetize your site. Unfortunately, newbies ignore these ultimate preferences and end up with a hole in their pocket. Worry not. We are here to stitch that hole and give you a lesson of a lifetime. Add AdSense ads everywhere possible. Add it in search and feeds etc. By doing so you will ultimately triple your AdSense income. By adding it in the search you will not only increase your income but it will also help in user navigation. We strongly suggest that you give this method a try before rejecting it completely.

Image or Text Ads:

First off, lets eradicate and squish a myth concerning image ads right now. No, they do not work more or less or better or worse than the text ads. Of course, the human mind is attracted towards images, we wont deny that. Image Ads also get a high CTR, CPC. But we would still suggest you to use both the forms of ads. The best method to work around this issue is to add text ads above the posts and image ads on the header and on the sidebar. Blocking an ad type/category will result in a decreased competition on your add resulting in decreased eCPM of your ads. Hence, use both type of ads and be happy with it.

Google DFP is Your Friend:

DFP (Double Click for Publishers) is a free hosted ad serving solution that understands your need to manage  you growing online advertisement business. Via DFP you can sell your ad space on your website to suitable candidates and it will also help you to promote your own content and services through your advertisements. Google DFP will help you generate AdSense revenue in a much more comfortable and efficient way.

Section Targeting:

One of the ways to build AdSense income is through Section Targeting. Google AdSense can't technically differentiate between relevant and irrelevant ads according to your article. So, most of the times it leads to an irrelevant ad on your page which can be infuriating to most of your followers plus, no clicks on the ads equals to no cash flow. This can be solved by directing Google to your content and using keywords so that it can display more related ads on your website. You can find the guide to Section Targeting here.

Ads Between Posts:

This method should be applied by our most desperate readers. If you are willing to earn more money at the expense of giving your readers a distasteful experience, then this is what you should do.
1. Personalize AdSense ads to match your page background and color,
2. Add 468*60 image or text link ads in between your blogs/posts/articles,
3. You can also add 7-10px padding if you aren't that ruthless.

Placement Targeting:

This is very important for all the bloggers out there. When you create a medium, you are provided with options like adding more details about your ad types and putting them up for auction in the market by selecting Placement Targeting. This, in turn, increases the competition and the ad value on your site rockets sky high. You have to enable this option manually. To enable placement targeting on your channel:
1. Sign in to your existing AdSense account
2. Go to My ads
3. Go to Custom
4. Click on Custom Channels
5. Now, click on a name and a window will pop up.
6. Add the details and put a tick mark on placement targeting.

Allow and Block Ads:

Beware of the sites that pay pennies for your hardwork and dedication. You can block certain URLs' ads that you have had a bad experience with and you can also block your competitor's ads to display on your site. This will help you to keep a check on what sort of ads are being displayed on your website. This will help you expand your AdSense earnings. Here are a few ways you can block certain ads through:
Advertiser URL
Ad Category
Ad Network
The new AdSense interface allows a much more userfriendly way to block those nasty URLs. You can see and find out which URLs are performing worse than others and block those. You can also block the URLs where the earning capacity is very low according to you.

YouTube and AdSense:

For all the video publishers and people who upload videos on YouTube regularly, you can easily expand your income by using the YouTube Publisher Program. It depends upon the traffic that your videos receive but these days you can get a minimum of $40-45 per month through AdSense for YouTube.

DomainTools Scummy SEO

webspam

DomainTools.com is a website which provides technical information about other websites such as their domain name registration, directory listings, keywords, SEO score, etc.  It is a very useful site if you're looking for information like that but are so many people online looking for that information it would rank as the 208th most popular site on the internet?

DomainTools isn't as popular as it's Alexa rank would imply but it does get a lot of visits and they manage to get many of their visits by scraping only the most important SEO related content from the over 100 million registered domain names without giving anything back to the sites they're scraping from. At one point they even had a close relationship with Google.

Let's look at what's really going on.

Me Vs The Droid

Ouch, that laser has a bit of a sting. After learning about Salty Droid through the Scamworld video and article, I visited his site and spent hours reading about what he's been doing I was really impressed.

I really related to what he was doing and I started this site because I was sick of seeing some of the same things I think he was seeing. I'm not trying to put myself on the same level as someone that has tried to help the families of victims of people like James Arthur Ray, or trying to slap some sense into someone on an obvious path to self-destruction.

I thought I had found a kindred spirit so I was really shocked at the reception I got when I left comments on his site. It took me by surprise that people were accusing me of being one of the scammers when I created this site to help people find ways to make money online without being scammed and without giving me money. I was to eager to express my interest and wound up doing something stupid.
